Seeking info on desk with drop-down front

    This desk has a drop-down front. I can't find any markings, though I haven't been able to look at the back bottom. Thanks for any help narrowing down the time period and/or value -- haven't found anything similar for comparison.

    Nice! Looks like an Art Deco-era fall front desk, beautiful wood figuring and lines, ca. 1935-45. Alot of pre WWII furniture is unmarked, so no surprise there. Not worth big bucks these days, for reasons discussed all through this website, i.e. the bottom fell out of the brown furniture market years ago, and it has yet to make a recovery.

    Still, you've got a beautiful piece, one well worth keeping.

    Nice chunky desk. I agree with Ghopper, 1940s.
