If someone has expertise with antique gilded picture frames, I would appreciate your help with identifying this one.

    Thank you in advance!

Antiquefinds, the photos are really small, but looking at this detail I suspect it could be Sorrento ware. It is very nice.

Could you post bigger pictures please, and more closeups as well?

I was told it was a tabernacle frame from the Renaissance period. Could this be correct?

AntiqueFinds, I'm of no help with your picture frame, but I absolutely have to comment on the marvelous dog in your avatar! What a gorgeous pupper!
    Is he/she yours?

Yes he is. His name was Ben. Unfortunately, he passed away :( He was such a sweet boy and was equally smart as he was handsome :)

    Thank you so much!

Our pets are always such important parts of our lives. Ben looks as if he must have been an exuberant, happy fellow. I am so sorry that you have lost him. My condolences.

In my opinion (not that it's a great one) I would say, Italian, mid 19th c, not typical Sorrento ware as the carving is 3d instead of 2d pierced work but the inlay is very typical Sorrento work. The carving isn't the best I've seen but very mid 19th c Italian in composition. Without very clear closeup pictures it's hard to tell for sure, still very nice and commercial.

Yes, Sorrento inlay was often combined with fretwork Renaissance style motifs, but rarely carving of this quality. This is the usual type:
