Featured Amish Dolls?

Can anybody point me in the right direction on identifying these dolls? Very unusually made, arms and legs are bendable on the smaller ones. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Not plastic but more paper mache'ish.

Looks like the material used by Martha Chase.

Referred to as Stockinette.

 

The bendable parts look like wrapped wire.

 

Maybe not technically "Amish," (as in made by an Amish person) since Amish their dolls don't have faces. At least not in the Amish areas I've visited.

Perhaps it's just a case of widespread mythology, but I was told it was because of their religious belief against the use of
"graven images."

The use of ribbons, lace, or sheer fabric and shortened sleeves is also very non-Amish, so I'd say no, they are not Amish dolls.

Taupou is correct -not Amish. We have many Amish in our area and they do not add faces.

 

I agree with Taupou... no, they aren't Amish. We have many in our area also - their dolls are faceless, and would not have buttons, buckles or lace either. Cute dolls - but, look like artisan pieces to me...

Very cute dolls -- the two smaller dolls are dressed from different eras. The female like a Pilgrim and the male like Little Lord Fauntleroy. I haven't identified the time era for the costume on the larger one.
