I was married to an Italian over 25 years ago, I picked up some phrases when I could get a word in edgeways, LOL:rolleyes:
I`ve visited Genoa and Brindisi and driven the Adriatic coast AutoStrada

    Welcome Andrea.....
Business used to take me to Milano, & Lago Di Como, where I visited the silk mills like Dante Prini, Gatti & Figli...and others.

I know why the movie stars have their villas on Lake Como !!

Great trip. Lago di Como, truly wonderful place, I was there a few years ago.
Yeah! Hollywood on the Lake, fantastic villas, naturally seen with binoculars.

I read a little Italian, but only speak enough to order in a restaurant.

Hi Andrea! A few years ago I had a lot of fun posting on and reading the "Ebay Italy" Antiques forum. I don't read or write Italian so I used the robo-translator "Google Translate" and they understood me and vice-versa. I don't think that forum still exists-there were a lot of fun people there. Their postings often contained images of very colorful works of art. The dialogue was much more social interaction than serious discussion of antiques.

    Hi springfld!
Yes, the forum of Italian ebay about Antiques is quite dead unfortunately, remains something in the Collecting section. True, some users are very social and friendly, personal story for antiques etc.

Benvenuto. Dove sei in Italia? I spoke a little Italian but very poorly. I have very good friends in Italy. For many years, I went to Italy every September. I have not been able to go for several years and my Italian is down to only few words.
