None of my business, but it's making me angry - what are these?

People are saying they are clock keys, but the ends look threaded, and there is that odd flange on the sides.
I just can not believe they are for clocks/toys/music boxes, etc.

Bottoms may be pin, not threaded.

A quick look show a (very!) few that were threaded, but the majority of them were a type of barrel key, and none of them had the hefty tops these do. And none had that weird flange on the side.

For some strange reason (because I rarely know anything about this stuff) I've got the feeling these had something to do with operating valves - especially the one with the single long thumb piece.

To my mind clock keys would never have to travel that far into the clock .....

Bare in mind that I have no idea how big they are (but I agree).

The closest thing I can find to these are pocket door keys but none of them are quite as slender or long-tipped as these.

I have a Seth Thomas electric clock that had (now long lost) long key with a threaded end somewhat like those for adjusting the chime when it was "out of whack".........which it has been for past 15 years......................

I knew they looked familiar!! (A long time ago in a galaxy far far away, I worked in a bank - an older one, with an old vault with time locks.)
