Does the stem open into the bowl or is the bowl bottom and the stem attached? Nice looking green stem but I think more likely post WW2.

HI, the stem does not open into the bowl but is hollow inside, plus its cut on the outside, I am beginning to think these may be crystal rather than glass as they are pretty hefty weight wise. The way the stem has been attached to the bowl and foot is almost invisible its so well done. The stem is not molded.

Aren't they pretty! When you flick them, do they sing, or go bonk?

The "tink" could as a result of the construction as well as the content of the glass. Try them with a short wave UV lighy.

If memory serves, Baccarat marketed a stem like that, but I don't know when.

Tom - Funny you should say Baccarat, as that is what I thought this morning. I searched Replacements but couldn't find a match.
Baccarat had similar cuttings to the bowl, but I couldn't find the stem.

susie - when you test for a ring - are you holding the stem? You should be lightly holding the base. That glass should ring.

Hi, i am used to handling crystal and i am sorry these don't have much of a ring when pinged. They must be heavy glass, perhaps they are copying the style of older glass. Thats why i am here as i have spent hours trying to find a match to these.

Susie I am not referring to the "black light" used to show decorative florescence but the type used by rock hounds and mineral collectors. You can get units that have both short and long wave bulbs by switching back and forth. The short will cause lead to fluoresce blue.

    Hope you didn't take offense.
I meant none. Sometimes we just forget the simple stuff, that's why I asked.
