African Mask - PUNU / GABON?

    This was described to me as a Punu mask from Gabon.
    Anyone here agree or disagree with that assessment?
    It measures approx. 14-1/4" H x 9" W x 7" D.

    I'd say no, not a Punu mask. It's missing the traditional dome shaped hair style, the diamond shaped scarification marks on the forehead, and the bulging eyes with a slightly curved slit. About the only thing it has that you would find on a Punu mask is the white color.

    I'd call it a decorative tourist item, at best.
