Wicker Basket 12b

Hi,
I have a wicker basket. The dimensions are Top: 6 ½” Diameter Bottom: 3 ½” Diameter and Height 3” I was wondering origin of country, how old, type of wood used in making it and worth. Thank you for your assistance in this request. Rob

A willow style, but the material looks like something else - I can see a center line running along each "rod" which doesn't look right. It doesn't look like reed either (which is the center portion of the rattan vine). Reed usually has many striations along the length. The color and glossiness of the bottom also doesn't look right, but your photos are not clear enough to make an identification.

 

Came with a plant or flowers in it. Not old, minimal value. The label remnant on the bottom used to say Made in China.

 

again...a collection of gift baskets from FTD....is most likely where they came from..

thrift is most likely where they will end up.
