I am new to this site. My mother collects Bauer pottery made In Atlanta. Is there a specific indicator that I should look for in acquiring these pieces?

Welcome, Jen. I'm sure there will be someone who can help you. But it would help us to know what it is you are looking for if you would post a few pictures of pieces your mother already has and of the marks on them. The only Bauer pottery I know of is the original Bauer in Los Angeles (which closed in 1962) and the repro/reregistered version that came after, but was also marked as LA.

I just googled and it looks like the same Bauer company did make pottery for a short time in Atlanta.

In 1938, Bauer Pottery sought to expand their market to the East coast by purchasing, and converting to a pottery, an old winery in Atlanta, Georgia. W. E. Bockman died before Bauer Atlanta was opened. John Herbert (Herb) Brutsche took over management of the Atlanta plant, and James (Jim) Bockman became the Los Angeles plant's general manager. A line of art pottery produced in the Atlanta plant was designed by industrial designerRussel Wright in 1945. The Russel Wright Bauer line was not successful and was discontinued shortly after its introduction. The Bauer Atlanta plant was converted into a sanitary ware production plant, Georgia Sanitary Pottery.

that is correct - bauer made pottery in atlanta under the supervision of russel wright - most of the pieces are actually marked ATL or Atlanta along with the bauer name
