From the "Swan" factory but what is it ?

    Well who would have thought , a 122 year old dog bowl !! Thank you all for unravelling the puzzle. I have found another one by "Spode" also glazed. "Komokwa" your theory makes good sense. Now we know what it is I can do a little more research and tell the owner. They have a dog.

    Just received further confirmation that it is a dog bowl from :
    Ceramics Department.
    The Potteries Museum & Art Gallery, Bethesda Street, Stoke-on-Trent City Centre, ST1 3DW.
    An address some may find helpful.

    Dog bowl....wow! Good research everyone and with confirmation, doesn't get better than that!

    Well Victorians did have a dish for everything and they didn't leave anybody out:)
