Zanderle Coffee Table Wood ID + Any Value?

Hi - This is a piece I inherited. It's in poor condition. Here's the info:
Zanderle Coffee Table with tooled leather, gilt design
Dimensions: 36” l x 17 ½” w x 16”h

I have a few questions:

1. What is the wood?

2. Would it have any value to anyone, even for someone who might want to repair it? If so, where would a good place to try to sell it be? (I'm trying to decide if I should give it away or trash it.)

3. Year of manufacture?

4. The style of the gilt design around the edge of the top?

1940's. That leather covering on the top is classic for that time frame.

Sometimes the wood for these is actual mahogany and sometimes is another wood species stained to look like mahogany.

You'll need to hear from others about saleability and whether it's worth refurbishing.

 

BTW - the name is Zangerle in case you're searching for others by the same maker.

 

40s - 50s mahogany for sure. Very little value here in the Midwest. Would pick up something like this for $15.00-20.00 at the thrift stores here.
