I dont think Neiger is very expensive nor very cheap. Those pieces of jewelry are great quality and they have some good age to them.

 

To my eyes anyway-your Flemish piece was a bit of a masterpiece & worth some deep green.
I've gone from Cheapskate to 'Survivalist Cheapskate'-it's the senior health care cost.I'm mostly picking $1 Off Coupons these days.
Got a ton of old stuff,but am frankly too afraid to sell it - Ebay,etc, all seem to have become 'rip-off mills'. Big online sites get the most eyes & bucks but also the most con-artists.
Our agreement (with Wise Spouse) is-sell the junk & use the funds to buy more junk.
So a bit paralyzed as to how to dump the old goodies.
All the local small-time buyers/auctions are even cheaper than me !
P.S.-Sounds simpler in the UK,but then the grass is always greener.Looks like yr Gov's bit confused now too.

I buy my own birthday gifts because my hubby has no clue at all about jewelry
But in return he trusts me and I can buy whatever (if its worth more than what I buy it for).

 

Des-My wife does the same for me.I love the rare and strange and has given up-'buy what you want sweetie'.

 

Meanwhile, I can't even get usable gloves as a gift. Got some nice driving gloves last year, even my size - but lined in cashmere. Animal fibers hate me.

That said.... someone mentioned Victorian bling??????
