Ink drawing Bk illustration? signed L. Pratt

The ink drawing of a melancholy couple at the seashore is signed L. Pratt. I found a reference on Liveautioneers to a portfolio of "figural charcoal sketches, most of them signed by L. M. Gibson Pratt." That is the only reference I have found for L. Pratt. Photos were taken through the glass so I apologized for the poor quality. Frame size is 11 1/2 x 15 ".
Help is much appreciated.

 

Now, there's a smooth move -- give the gal your coat so she doesn't get cold and then snuggle up to her for warmth! Nice sketch, and style looks rather like the Gibson girl artist.

I found that same portfolio of charcoal sketches that says the portfolio name is "Twelve New Gibson Girls." I do wonder if he is connected to Charles Dana Gibson as Silver suggested.

Note there are shown charcoals of woman done by her. If you google her name you will see other charcoals by her such as the following:

The signatures look very different from each other... not saying it's not the same person as one of these two., but needs more research.

 

This is so much more information than I could have hoped for! Thank you all! Susan - I checked your finds and will continue along those lines. If I can get better pictures I will send them to an illustrators' auction house.
