Silver spoon --bent or intentional?

This spoon came in the cup as shown at the GW, I don't think they started out together. The cup is International Silver, and is plated.

Spoon has the lion passant, kind of a ladle-like shape.

Quite a bit worse for the wear, have done no polishing. If necessary, could try to get a better shot of the marks.

Any idea, did someone bend this or are there spoons designed to rest in cups like this? Thanks.

It appears to be an invalid feeding spoon.

You know the spoon is English sterling, right, Lucille?

Invalid spoon. Of course, thanks Debora.

Yes, Bakers. I thought I saw the lion mark in the GW, that's why I grabbed it. I am starting to figure this stuff out, got the left facing lion at least, lol!

Thank you, INH. Could be E.V., Edward Viner, I think the last symbol is a P. Definitely need to clean up unless this one might be for the scrap pile. Normally don't put much silver in there, but this is in such rough shape. ...or??

Just rethought the last mark. Think P, But EV looks right.

The letter is for the year of assay so it changes very 12 months. ;)

It could be the 1957, instead, although the spoon must have been buried somewhere to be that corroded.

    That's it INH, thank you!

And agree, Bakers. Something major happened to this. Due to laziness, it will probably go in the scrap pile, but willing to clean it up if folks think it might find a buyer. I was worried is was also bent a bit more than average which would be another negative.

I'd throw it in the scrap pile, if I had one. ;)

That shape was also sold as part of silver christenin sets.
