Someone today was showing their flow blue plate, and that reminded me I hadn't shared mine yet. It is very common though. Salad Plate.

 

I bet that's a mark even hard core potties can't read. Not so much flow blue as attempted to flee blue.

 

Actually, I think it is WH Grindley or at least this is the mark on a similar piece on ebay.

I scored today, boy. This 7" Santa Clara Pueblo jar has real presence. It's by Jeff Roller, son of Toni Roller, grandson of Margaret Tafoya, great-grandson of Sara Fina Tafoya.

Terry-You scored a 24K necklace ? Have you weighed it yet (wonder if that was for the Saudi/Indian market) ?....wow-I'd think very rare for the US.
It's a shame the big online gold buyers are so cheap,sent inquiries to 7-8 & the highest return (re gram weight on 14K) was 55%,seems a bit cheap to me.Ebay's a danger zone for gold sellers.

I reckon the old fashioned market stall gold buyers are best. Our local one pays spot, bless him.

Yesterday, I bought silver. One piece was made in 1826. The other, around 1776. I am a VERY happy bunny. The two clever blokes who think they know Stuff were pawing through modern goldtone cwap bling. I went for the plastic ice cream box with silver in it. Eight pieces later.....

 

Bear-Where can I find ' market stall gold buyers' in the States ? Not sure what you'd call them over here. So they don't offer 50-60% of 'spot' but closer to 100 % ? Davey Dempsey mentioned getting 90-95% in the UK too...as they say here-'hmmmm'.

 

Basically, you get gold buyers at local street markets, espeically antiques ones and at some fairs. You even get them going round car boot sales, complete with scales and a wodge of cash. Pawnbrokers offer the worst rates, ime and imo. When I was selling a 22ct gold lump, I got the best rate from a local jeweller who was of Arab origin. It was Emirati gold and he knew the marks. Friend sold some odd earrings to a bloke down Enfield Market who gave her way more than the local gold buying shops, including IHT who are a pawn chain. There's some postal ones, but I've not used them.
