Featured Ring - need information

This is a ring i found clearing out my mom & dads house. It is 2 cm in diameter, and seem very well used and taken care of, but if the box is original i do not know. However, there are no marks that i can find on it, and i assume the stones are glass.

Does anyone know anything about an object like this; is it silver (it is quite light) and could it be worth haning on to, or should it goes to my kids treasure chest?

It is lovely, Torkel. Have you been able to locate any marks, maybe tiny ones hidden among the scroll design?
The ring looks antique, with hand cut paste stones. Paste is glass, often used in 18th and 19th century jewellery. It may not be gemstone, but paste is quite desirable nowadays.

Forgot to say, the type of ring with stones all around is called alliance ring. Here in the Netherlands we use the French pronunciation of alliance, I don't know how that is internationally.

 

Late 19th into early 20th C eternity ring. I've a similar one, albeit mine is a bit newer, as it was a 1970s copy of a typically Victorian into Edwardian design here. Almost certainly British, probably white gold, get the stones tested. Small things like this were often unmarked. The stones are table cut, which is right for the age. Row set. And it needs a good clean!

Eternity ring, I knew there was another name, that's it.
I think with the tarnish and the bubbles it is silver and paste. Paste can also be set open-backed, just like gems.

 

Love it too and it brought back a funny memory. A friend got engaged when we were in college in the early 70s and we discussed wedding rings. She said she wanted a diamond eternity band and would never consider a part way set. I asked, “Why?” She replied, “For when I wave”...

 

Now there's a soon-to-be husband who has his future "cut" out for him.

Here's a 1904 ad for G. J. Tennant. Note that, from a current map of Luton, it appears that New Bedford Road and Manchester Street meet at a corner. Luton experienced considerable bombing during World War II and, perhaps because of that or later redevelopment, a new building stands at this location.

Yup, that's the ad in my link. That bit of Luton wasn't bombed overmuch, it was "regenerated" about twenty or thirty years ago. I know it well.

 

Beautiful ring. I'd be happy to have that in my treasure chest!

That's the bit that is especially typical of nice Victorian bits.You don't see the scrolling, but you know it's there. I very much doubt this is marked.

Looks like the ring was die stamped and the stones appear to be table cut.
