Found this little guy yesterday. I need to dredge my memory for the artist who did painted bakelite, because I'm pretty sure that's what he is. The painting was $6 at the Ill Will. It's an oil by a listed artist with a real Oil Painters of America alphabet soup after her name - Carol Swinney. The frame has to have retailed for a good $50. I checked when I got home, and her current gallery prices are $1000+. Mom didn't like it much until I found the price tag.(LOL) This one's in Scotland and she's known mostly for Arizona/western art, but. DSCF0808.JPG DSCF0815.JPG DSCF0813sm.jpg

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

Love the owl -- is it a pin, or just a doodad?

Oh, and like the painting, too. Good score!

It's a pin. The painting was purchased at the same time as an overpriced jewelry jar. Even so, I figure I did OK.

A Western Electric Princess phone in Aqua Blue. The cord is cut but parts are available and it’s in excellent condition and they sell well. Date code indicates 1962. I am actually tempted to keep it!

17 year olds & phone - watched without turning on sound & still nearly died laughing. They were just determined that there had to be something you push & think they thought they had to keep resetting it after each attempt by lifting & replacing receiver. Guess if you can't figure out which way is front on your hat, a rotary phone would be a challenge. That kid couldn't figure out how to keep the cord out of the way.

Just replayed with sound & heard they got help. So unfair, so unfair. :)

I got a kick out of them thinking the way it worked is to start at 0, go round to a number (say 3), and that dials that number :joyful:
