    Howdy
A local dump-master friend had this come in a couple weeks back which he
passed to me for research. Lots of defects but someone invested plenty of calories

creating this gnarly hardwood chisel duller. 21x23x31 inches
Any reference to era, geographic origin or, specific designation humbly nodded to.
    Thanks!

    Interesting little table. Nice wood

I think the marble is a replacement for the original top.

Those feet remind me of root furniture ? I agree the marble is a replacement but Id take it anyway! Those turns and the overall structure made me think run of the mill golden oak type of stuff, but the more I look the more I think folk art .

Looks like a hobby piece. Could be inspired by the Victorian era, but fairly recent, i.e. vintage.

I don't think it is recent.
    I think early 1900s.
Looks like Maple burl under the marble.

That's a granite top, not marble. Someone got an offcut of kitchen worktop.

    Yep, granite.

    Victorian inspired, but vintage.

    Vintage what?
Yesterday? 10 years ago? 50 years ago?

Vintage means nothing without some sort of reference.

    Vintage as in not antique.

I guess I needed to be more specific, like "early 1900s."

    I'm old school.
Vintage is used with a year or time period. Not a stand alone term.

Odd thing. Think it has some age (First half of 29th century?). Some kind of one-off construction, as opposed to factory built. Can't imagine the granite is original.

That is what it is going to look like in the 29th century! Surely you can see that cluttered! :hilarious::hilarious:

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

This reminds me of a question I've been meaning to ask. How recently made can something be and still be called "vintage"? For example, in 2019 is it okay to say something is "vintage 2005"? @clutteredcloset49 and others, what are your thoughts?

    Hi Fig,
Wine can be called vintage 2015. Vintage as to antiques etc I NEVER use. I can say Circa some date but never use vintage. I used to say Vintage Fiestaware meaning before 1986 when New Fiesta was being made again. Now I say ORIGINAL Fiesta and Post 1986.
