looking for help deciphering this signature on weird birdman

Found this the other day and I have tried and tried to figure out the signature. I'm hoping another set of eyes might help. I'm seeing Gooleck???

 

I was so expecting Asian characters for the signature - especially with the stylized yin/yang figures all around the "cape."

 

I tried seeing them too but just couldn't..

What IS that thing? And WHERE did you find it?? I hope it doesn't breed in captivity...

 

Apparently it's a hummingbird man?? Spirit animal? I'm in ABQ NM and it looks like several galleries carry this persons work. I got it at a thrift store for $1 so not a bad gross margin if i can unload it.....

 

I couldn't find a single thing by him for sale, so maybe it will surprise you and go through the roof. Let us know.

It's a sage stick which I make them all the time easily replaced
