Help with Asian Cabinet

    cabinet_1.JPG Bought this asian cabinet . Wanted to see if I can find more info on this. Dont know if its an antique. Bought it from a consignment store.

    Great pics. The furniture folks also like hardware - hinges, pulls, handles, and side views of drawers

    Welcome to the forum, neenz.

    It doesn't strike me as very old. I could be wrong, of course, let's wait for more people to weigh in.

    Usually the characters on a cabinet have something to do with the use.
    I only know Chinese medicine cabinets with characters, but those generally have rows of small drawers, each with a different description on the front. And no floral decorations.
    Maybe @JayBee recognises it. He will certainly be able to read the texts.:)

    Interesting calligraphy cabinet.....possibly Hong suanzhi wood. I was told by one of my Chinese buyers that decent Chinese furniture will not be constructed with nails or screws but of mortise tenon type construction which I see demonstrated here.
