Featured SQUARE CHINESE GARDEN SEAT? PLANT STAND? DEITY SHRINE?

What is this? I found it at a local thrift store this morning.
Square garden stool? Plant stand? Buddha/Deity shrine or display? (It kinda looks like one of the yard displays that some Cuban families here in Miami house/diplay/protect different Catholic figures in their front yards.
Although this one is smaller (but really heavy): 14"L x 8.5"W x 13"H

i think this is not chinese stool,never saw porcelain stool like that,and also never saw porcelain altar/shrine like that,usually chinese using wood as a altar/shrine in the house,i think it could be just random porcelain ware for display purpose,for export exactly,it could be somewhere mid 20th century maybe?imho

Though my cat would adopt it in a blink for naps, perhaps it can be a foot warmer with embers in a container inside

Did i notice that the top has a depression in the middle? Or is it me? I wonder if a small pillow or padding was there for a reason.

Not a bench or stool, and certainly not a shrine. I suspect some sort of display-table or some such.

There are some bases/plinths for statues like foo dogs that are rectangular with cut out sides but most I looked at had plain tops.

I think it's great! Is that a crack across the top?
