Featured Cool Watercolor Postcard Find

    Going through the first of a dozen or so boxes of family papers I came across this postcard.

    George Cress had studied at the University of Georgia under Lamar Dodd before he entered the army in 1942 and had been a teaching assistant there as well, at the same time that my mother (Beth) was studying there under Jean Charlot. This appears to be a small WC he sent her from camp in Colorado before shipping out to Europe.

    This link is to an article about the acquisition of some of his work by the Institute of Contemporary Art in Chattanooga, Tn. which the article indicates was his choice for the bulk of his work after his death:

    Yeah, it is lovely

    To me it's a sign of love, here's what I am seeing, I want you to appreciate it too, I wish we could be seeing it together
