    I recently bought a
BERNHARD HERTZ 1960s Sterling Silver, 828s necklac DENMARK
    from this person.
first of all, this person is obviously not in Oslo, Norway, but acc. letter in Lithuania.
the necklace itself is not silver, but cheap massproduced.
the hanger is not a hanger but a brooch missing the needle; someone soldered an eye on it.
I don't speak about the stone...

Sorry this happened, fid, thanks for warning us. Where does he sell?
Hope you get your money back.

If it was cheap enough, I'd keep it, more wearable than as a brooch. But it ought not to have been represented as it was.

40 £. none of the pics shows the back of course. I'm not sure if it's worth the time opening a paypal case yet. better a tomato perhaps.

Ouch. That's about twice what I reckon it's worth in its altered state.

I would open a SNAD now and point out the shipping address was not the same as advertised.
eBay will freeze the funds including shipping costs and you might not even have to return it.
If you don't they will get away with it and carry on the deception.

You're covered by eBay's Buyer Protection:
"The eBay Money Back Guarantee protects you in cases where an item is not received or is not as described in the listing. "

I see they have only 63 feedback ratings and they're at 100% positive. I'd definitely throw the person a negative to help warn others.

    I despise dishonest sellers.

I wanted to give it to my wife, but I must say I spoilt her too much in those respects. probably I open a SNAD and hope they kick that guy out.

The location wouldn't particularly worry me, but the description does.

fid, has the seller said anything to you?

I wouldn't have cared about the location either. I would definitely contact the seller about the condition, but it's more wearable as it is now. That pin back may have broken off long ago. The seller may have purchased it as it sits. They may be a relative newbie and not have known better.

I have bought some good quality amber jewellery from Lithuania. But there are bad apples everywhere.:(
The seller could have some connection to Norway, which could be why he is still registered as a Norwegian seller.

Fid, good that you're opening an SNAD, and good luck.

Address would not bother me. I often have buyers listed for items I don't sell internationally show up as "Russia" giving me momentary heart failure since I don't ship there, and yet their Ebay address in the U.S. Somehow in those cases on Ebay, a double address shows. Maybe this is what is going on.

I would also give the seller a chance to make it right. As Evelyb points out, maybe they didn't know any better. 63 feedback is a new seller by all accounts.

Ebay makes it incredibly easy to open a SNAD. You are fully protected. They will send a return shipping label, you just put it back in the packing and return it and you are refunded your full price.

Yes a disappointment, but as a fellow seller I would urge you to give them a chance to make it right.

    done.
it is quite normal if the seller lived near the country of expedition. it is IMO not normal that a person from Lithuania uses an ebay address in Norway, asks to be paid in British pounds and puts the feedback on private.

Something does seem odd here. Sellers can't have private feedback only buyers can.

If it was on a UK site, payment has to be received in British pounds, location of seller doesn't impact that. (I think, anyway).

Hope it all works out. You hold all the cards in a situation like this, so a full refund guaranteed.

Go find your wife something else if you can. You have amazing taste as we all know. Lucky woman. :)

Sellers here can make the item private, which is what has happened in this instance. Yes, if it's on .uk, it will be in pounds.
