I have this platter that I have found and it looks like silver, passes the magnet test and ice melts like crazy.

I have yet to do an acid test, however has anyone seen this before?

It doesn't have the regular gorham markings i've seen on google but not sure what it is.. IMG_5897.jpg IMG_5896 (3).jpg

Never seen this sort of mark on a legit Gorham item. At best silver plated - "passing the magnet test" does not mean it's not plated, just means the base metal alloy does not contain any iron. If it was solid silver it should say sterling on it, but all that rust color is another indicator of problems.

You say you "found" it. Where, when?

No wonder it's rusty. I'm sorry, but don't see much hope for this being worth your time.

Hi again, Baloo. I heard from someone who recognized this name and item. Seems about 15 - 20 years ago there was an aluminum-based alloy import line (maybe from India) that included pieces like this.

Was just reminded that the line of items was called "Bronze Age." That may help you to find others if you are interested in more information.
