refectory table query..

    yup !
    and one can see the old repair where the knot was falling apart...

    a poor selection of wood for the board on the left..as large knots ...have the problem of separating with age..

    Two plank tables date back to, oh, at least the 17th here.

    Its definitely old. I suspect at least most of the table was made from English Oak. It was obviously a "working" table that's seen some use opposed to sitting pretty in a lonely corner of a room.
    From the photos, it certainly appears to have had a number of repairs - but that is only to be expected, especially considering the possibility of it having existed for the past 200 years or more.
