I've put this under Tribal Arts because it looks native to me. I find the delicate detailing around the neck intriguing. The large holes are punched all the way through to the inside. It is covered in a matte brown slip. The outside has some irregularities which suggest it was worked by hand. It is a little under 4" high. It is marked on the bottom.

I would not describe this as "native". It looks more like a contemporary decorative piece. I don't recognize the lettering on the base, but if you could identify the alphabet that might be a clue to origin.

Native is a relative term, but I know what you mean.;)

Once, when a Native American lady asked me if I was Native, I was tempted to say yes, I am native Dutch.:playful: I am, but that wasn't what she was thinking of, so I decided to be polite.

Despite the anomalies, it still looks to me like it was made on a wheel, which rules out SW NA pottery.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

It is very attractive, whatever the origin.
