Thank you for the comment. I did some searching now. Could they perhaps be antique? Or even Victorian?

PS, note that the Abbott item is not carved soapstone, but a casting, basically plaster with a resin top-coat. Not always easy to tell, but I've seen a broken Abbott item, showing an internal metal armature.
Still should be possible to resell.

Couple of 1940s snazzy jackets in really good condition bought from a local closing down Theatre group. Can’t find the pocket crest but suspect English school or college rather than boating group because of the George cross and the book.

Rummers are still made, they're a pig to date. Stick them on the PGP board with more photos, hm?

Interesting and also disappointing. Thanks for letting me know. I still like it and it was not for reselling (so all good)

And now for something completely different and possibly terrible. Cosmic art in a cheap kitsch plastic like frame. Is this 80’s ‘waiting room’ art or maybe ‘ massage parlour’ art? It’s painted on canvas. But is this a weird factory painting? Or by an ‘individual’ artist? It was really cheap (yes, probably because nobody wanted it)

It looks like a copy of a Miro to me.If it was an original, even if you didn't like it,it would still like you-as in millions and millions.

Ownbybear- 'Rummers' i assume are those sock darner thingies ? House-finding defunct theatre troupe costume seems like a classic trope from the opening of a BBC Mystery.
I was inspired by all the wondrous UK finds here and decided to check on some British Auctions on Icollector & Invaluable. I saw a piece and sent a shipping cost inquiry to the auction houses shipper-270 to 350 pounds + 17.50 insurance. This is a small Victorian Home Service Helmet-not a piano ! Hmm,time for Plan B.

He looks like he had one espresso bean too many.

Went hunting today, and found a really cool copper dish made by a Chinese-American artist. Last night, a legit Chinese ink drawing. I have pictures of the drawing at least and will start a thread on trying to read the siggie elsewhere.

Tried looking for GCTC and got a modernish tech college in India. Think tennis club is a good call, hard to think what else it could be.

You need to come over here on a summer holiday with a big expandable suitcase and wearing a jacket with big pockets.
