Hi Everyone! I am not sure if this is an opal. It changes from bluish purple-ish orange-ish redish greenish yellowish colors depending on the position. The colors are so vivid and how they blend in from one, two, three colors to the next is so gorgeous. I wish I could upload a video. It does not look like man made to me it looks too natural the way it flows. The last image I was able to screen shot from a vidoe. Can you also tell the the age of this necklace please? Thank you all so much for your responses, stay safe and have a beautiful day

I don't think it is, but I could be wrong. I own a few pieces of dichroic glass jewelry and it doesn't change or look like this. It it is not opal it must be something else. Thank you for responding so quickly, I always appreciate your responses.

    Sweet necklace ezee.:)
Sounds like a natural opal, or at least a layer of natural opal, it could be a triplet. Just to check, when look at the stone from the side, does it look like the domed top is transparent?

It is hard to say because it is so small and all you see are the colors. to me it has kind of a milky shade to it. Thank you so much for responding AJ!

In that case it is probably a triplet, which makes sense in a silver necklace. So three layers, in the centre is opal, the top is a transparent layer to protect the opal.

sorry to bother you about this, but can you tell if this is from the 70's or earlier because of the clasp? Thank you and have a great day <3

No bother at all, that's what we're here for.:)
This particular spring clasp is not an indication of the period, and those tags are still sold, but I think the necklace is post-1990.
