I have 2 brooches.I'm not sure but I believe they are Victorian brooches,One Has beautiful gold leaves.I'm not sure if they are real gold.Appears to be gold. the other one has beautiful crystal rhinestones no foil on the back. Both has the "C" clasp, the "T" back and the pin is long past the clasp. Please can we see the front of the second one?
The top one has a vaguely Miriam Haskell look but I’m not sure if they used backplates with folded edges

Haskell did use similar pierced backplates to which wired pieces were attached, so a look in that direction would be wise. That’s a tube hinge btw.
The crystal piece appears to be Deco or Moderne in style. I think I can see remnants of foil on the back of the stones, and I agree with KSW, we need to see the front of this piece.

    So can I.

They are pretty brooches, but not Victorian imo.

The double circle one is typical of 20s and 30s paste pieces. Pressed metal settings.

Can you get photos with a bit less glare, if possible? I'm squinting at the "gold" one!

A tube hinge says older but the rest of the brooch is Haskelly. Scandinavia still uses tube hinges on some traditional brooches the last I heard. So.. dunno. 30s to early 50s?

Soak the crystal piece for a few minutes in warm water with a small amount of dish detergent or soap & scrub with an old toothbrush. Rinse & pat dry with paper towel & place on fresh paper towel to dry. It’s going to be bright & blinding once clean.

…… when possible, let’s see more of that jewelry haul!

Well now I had to go & take another look & see a little verdigris (green oxidation) on the back of the crystal piece, near the hinge. You’ll need to remove it prior to cleaning - it will eat the metal in time if left long enough.

To clean, some use vinegar or even ketchup (which works because it contains vinegar & has a consistency that stays put), still others use oil to soften it & then brush or scrub away.

Make sure to dry completely post-cleaning, as moisture & humidity will bring it right back. A blow dryer or fan is great for drying.

Once you’ve removed the green, you may be left with a darkened spot. Not a huge issue but one that should be mentioned if selling the piece.

That should cover it. Of course we’d love to see it again post-clean!

Wonderful! You may want to invest in a couple of Sunshine Cloths - you’ll find them with an internet search - they are cloth with polish inside - will brighten up most metal, gently. You can use the same cloth over & over :)

Me again. The circled area needs more attention :

….. and anywhere else you see that green stuff. Rub some mineral oil into it & let sit a few hours (heck, do the whole thing, as I see more green…) then rewash as before. Should take care of the remaining bits of plating as well :)
