Colonial Edition: I would assume is because it was send here and South African was a British Colony. Would the ‘Colonial Edition’ book be different from the ‘standard’ edition book in any other way? Thanks

These are often called Reynolds Angels after a painting by Sir Joshua Reynolds.

It's marked Colonial (dumb look) Might be worth less, or more depending on the book and the vaguearies of the market. Some "foreign" editions are worth more than the domestic ones.

Vase is a little bit Welz with that black and orange spatter, but that cased white looks later. I'm inclined to Japanese.

I bought this because I liked the frame, saw someone has tacked inside so took a chance on it and removed the black velvet when I got home. It came from a disbanding theatre company prop sale.

    Now that's a nice score!

I came home today with more money than I left with. Went to one tag sale that turned out to be all new stuff. One of my cusswords - "new". Then I went to a second day of an estate sale that I only found out about after the first day ended. spent $14. There's a photo on my tablet; I found a hand-decorated cup and saucer with a staple repair. Bought it for the staples. Got someone's wedding silver salt and pepper too. They had $68 on them, apparently a mistake; the estate runner said she'd seen people picking them up and putting them down for two days running. Sold them to be for $5.

Third sale: I rooted around in some silverplate and found a handful of pieces that weren't plated, and a little purple Coach wallet. "You can have the silverware but I wanted $5 for the wallet." Couldn't get my cash out fast enough.(LOL) The best thing at that sale was Mugsby the kitten/cat, a half-grown tabby with the zoomies. He decided my cane, and fingers, were good toys. Said kitty was another cat's "find". Said second cat came home one night with the kitten in his mouth!

Ran one errand and then took the silver to a local pawn shop and was paid $40. Was that under melt? Probably, but given what I had in it who cared?

Been slim at sales. Two bucks for this cheesy cat a roo pendant. P1910092.JPG P1910093.JPG
Tag for a jewellery shop in Hamilton in the box. Pendant unmarked. 14K acid doesn't touch it. 2-1/2 grams.
