ID on Necklace with Curious Mark, High Silver Content

My friend has gone goofy trying to figure out who made this necklace. For some reason, I am leaning towards India. We both feel it is probably Eastern or Mideast in origin.

She has tested the links and they test above sterling. The soldered end tag has a hole in it, we wonder if it was a standard tag the maker might also use on pieces that need a dangling identifier terminal.

The mark is B.1. D.R.E.W. Any clues?

I think it might be from India too, but no idea about the marker, sorry..

 

It is a traditional Indian mango necklace, mostly worn in the southern half of the country.
The tag is actually designed to hook the hook clasp in. You didn't show the entire necklace, does it still have a hook clasp?
In this case the manufacturer is not important to the value.

 

Fabulous, @AJ! She said it does have a hook, not sure if it fits into the hole on the tag since she didn't send a photo showing that end. I appreciate your help SO much!

 

It wouldn't fit through the punched hole, the loop at the end is meant for the hook.
I would just ignore the punched hole. It may have had a tiny heart or something, a sweet touch but not important to the necklace. A little dangle on the clasp is fun but not traditional.
