I have a 20+ piece set of this tea service. The porcelain is very thin/translucent. Do you think it's Satsuma or Imari?

I am rusty at this, so don't take my word for it, but I'm thinking Kutani.

Satsuma has a yellowish tinge to it usually, though I am seeing a few Satsuma wisteria tea sets somewhat similar to yours.

Edited to add: I remember when I used to research maker's marks, that red background usually indicated Meiji era, but I don't know how hard and fast that rule is.

Double edit (sorry): according to LAPADA website, "If the decoration looks like Satsuma but it is porcelain, then it is likely Kutani."

Just to confirm both above are correct, it is Kutani and early 20th century. The characters on the bottom read 'Kutani' (they are upside down in the pic)

Good catch! I didn't even think to flip the mark, though it's been so long, I don't know if I would have recognized it right off the bat.
