It wouldn't be morganite. As has been said, the mineral , pink beryl, is lighter, can be yellowish or orangey. Kunzite, pink spodumene, can be more like this in color, but both stones were only recognized in the early 20th century. They are not common in contemporary jewellery & surely would not have been used when this brooch was made. The scuffed look of the edges where the table of the center stone meets the facets of the girdle makes me think glass.

 

I need to buy it to find out Is that a good enough reason?
