    Gorgeous pitcher.:)
I bought this tea strainer off the bay and saw where the owner used a paint handle? Anyway,I am still looking for another one to see what the original handle looked like so I can make a replacement. Its a fat birdie :)

I used an old bamboo chopstick for a handle on one. The original was ivory.

That's the Paye & Baker 'dripless' strainer, uncommon in the 'birdie' form - the handle was ebony-finish wood in the same shape used on the regular strainers (though some of those had regular flatware handles). The 1917 patent number was 1,226,691 - the little screen is missing on quite a few of them...

Somewhere, I have some other shots, but these two show the handle, along with a good shot of the handle on the regular strainer for the shape:

Thank you Cheryl for the info. Mine is marked but too little to read? Mine still has the screen and looks exact to your pics. I have a handle almost identical to yours that is on a brandy warmer. I will have to dig it up and see if it fits my birdie. :cat:

I suspect mine has a "paint brush" replacement as well. Bad solder blob job, but still has the screen!

That's pretty funny - two different people thought of using a paintbrush handle.

It's an old Nikon PowerShot S2 1S. It's a bit bulky but still works!

I think so too, Bev! I guess the original didn't hold up very well?

I'm saving all my worn out brushes now! Who knows what I can use them for.
