Featured Is this a cuff link, stud or batchelor button?

My search found some with the same mechanism on the back but some say they're cuff links and some say studs/buttons. I only have the one, spent ages digging through loads of old accessories looking for another one but alas no joy.

What is the name at the top? It looks like it had a patent or at least applied for one. I tried goadings but got no hits.

Sorry, I'm being dense but... How exactly would those work as cufflinks?

I am wondering myself. I tried searching for some type of patent but I think Google changed their patent search page or else I am doing something wrong. I got absolutely no hits that had anything to do with cufflinks.:confused::confused:

Objects of this design are widely labelled as cufflinks across the internet but...

I wonder if its a button or stud cover?

Keep the button on the outside of cuff. Slip the moving part through both holes. Then snap shut. Unless you know a natty one-armed man, covert it to a dingle-dangle on a chain for your neck.

Ah... That would work. And room to allow for double layer of cuff.

Ahh thank you. I don't know any one armed men but I do make jewellery occasionally so am sure I can make use of it somehow :)
