Old Ink sketch?- Christ taken from cross

Hi all,I was happy and surprised to find this today in a shop/factory that deals in restoring furniture but mainly also constructing furniture from salvaged and reclaimed flooring and ceiling beams (stripped out from old buildings)

It seems to be something that they perhaps just ‘picked -up’ along the way (I don’t really know) What do you all think? Is it based on some know image or drawing? I did see similar images online. I find it powerful. Its 20x24cm.

assume that this was a older copy of a some historic image. But didn’t think is was a mass print.Does at least look vintage to me.

Yes indeed,quite far Anyway. I like it. It’s nicely framed and I ended up paying the equivalent of about only $6.. So it’s all good..

 

Agree that it's handsomely framed. And, given you have such a good eye, perhaps the next time...

Take it out of the frame and inspect the image. Then replace that acidic matt and backing.

 

Everyone needs a Rembrandt on their wall, even if it is a Vintage print.
