Russian translation on whatsit i have

Just me poking my head in again.
I bought this little thing that looks like a urn of some sort. miniature. looks like it might be an fragrance oil lamp?
any help with ID and the translation would be great. it had this piece of paper folded up inside.
It is 5" tall.

miniature Samovar.....

 

The CCCP is the equivalent of USSR in Cyrillic. It is a souvenir miniature samovar.

The label is the sales receipt, it appear to have cost 9 roubles (6 kopecks?)

It dates from a period when every item in the Soviet Union had a fixed price.
If the fixed price was less than the cost of production, the shops were usually empty of that object.

You could look on it as symbolic of the failure of a state run economy, and thus of some associated historical interest, but I can't really see any other value in it.

 

Um...that looks to be in working order. What does one use a miniature samovar for?

A thought occurs... "Tiny tea leaves?"

 

Hmmm, Was wondering the same thing. as a souvenir i am sure not to be used anyway. at least i have the original receipt and as far as i can see other than missing the knob on the lid it is complete. thanks all of you...

The engravings read, made in Ussr, Krasnaya Polyana. A souvenir from Tolstoy museum in Tula.
9 roubles, made in factory called 'Shtamp'.

 

The handwriting on the last line is the date given to the piece. I don't know if it's the date of manufacture or the date of sale. The date is the 23rd of (some month) 1969.

Also, the engraved lettering on the samovar itself says Yasnaya Polyana (Ясная Поляна), which was the name of the estate and home of Leo Tolstoy.

Not important, but the factory where it was made was named after somebody named B. L. Bannikov. I looked a little and haven't figured out who that was.

I see that kardinalisimo already wrote a lot of this, but I couldn't help myself.

 

"Shtamp?!" (from an inebriated postal worker, no doubt.)

Which reminds me. Law and Order almost never screws up its language unless it is on purpose -- as in the Ed Green character using ain't. However this morning the Boss lady referred to a character "schlumpfing" across town. Gotcha!!!

Now how, in New York no less, could that have happened? What she meant was "schlep," as "schlumpf" means almost the opposite, and one does it at home in one's bathrobe.

The above is of no use to anyone, but it intrigued me.

 

One of the meanings of shtamp (штамп) in Russian is "stamp" in the sense of stamping or punching out a metal piece in a factory. That's probably the meaning here.
