As someone with piles of loose stones including a 100 carats of unfaceted sapphires, I see the desire to put them into some use.

 

I stopped in to my jeweler today to pick up my watch I nearly lost because a pin fell out of the band, and there standing, staring me in the face was a lamp whose base was just about identical to yours!!!! Go figure!!!!

My mind was all muddled up other than I noticed THAT!! BUT, I have to go back soon and WILL try to remember to take a pic!!! AND bookmark this page so I can add it!! Had a VERY BUSY day for me!!! Some stuff sold at auction that my Mom had left me before she passed....it was time to move it along. DH had been working on cleaning the cellar, wearing a very old wrist watch he had in the Army (had it fixed back then too, but never ran right so it's been sitting in a drawer for 50+ yrs until we got it NICELY fixed), when cleaning the cellar a few days ago, he must have mashed it against a cement wall....cover came off, second hand disappeared and both minute and hour hands mashed/bent & no longer running-AGAIN!!! So, JUST getting an estimate at this point.....M-E-N!!!!!! Maybe he might be up for a Christmas present.....good that he doesn't read what I write here!!

I was SO excited about the base, I kind of didn't notice that much!!! But when I go back, I WILL get a pic, if they don't mind, @KikoBlueEyes !!!

Now that is a good use for odd bits of amber. What I keep thinking is DANG you're lucky to have an indie lamp shop. The only one locally closed down years ago.
