Is this petrified wood in these earrings?

These earrings are marked Sterling, Bruge, Wood. They look like tiger eye to me but I am confused by the marks. What do you think the stones are? Made in Belgium, I presume? The color on the frames and back is a reflection of the camera. Thanks for looking as always.

 

The Flemish town is either Brugge, in Flemish/Dutch, or Bruges in French and English. So if they meant Brugge, either a g or an s is missing.

I wonder if bruge could be a type of wood.

 

Thanks Any. I did a search for Bruge wood and all that turns up is Bruges possibilities. It doesn't look like an "s" is missing examining each earring under a loupe. There's not room for another "g" in the word. Baffling.

 

Forgot to say, it looks like wood, rather than stone, which is what petrified wood is. Just to be sure, does it feel like stone, cold?

It made me smile too! The stone feels cold like a stone should. That's why initially I thought it was tiger's eye, until I saw the back markings.
