Thank you. Frankly, I didn't look like much amid the other gleaming jewelry. They have a tendency of overlook any Native American stuff, but they also get tons of different quality turquoise from other countries.

There were, and still are, many husband and wife teams in SW NA jewellery making.:)

I see a lot of familial connections when I read about SW NA pieces, but I wasn't thinking husband and wife. Good to know. Thank you.

Thanks! In car so may lose you as I’m going into the mountains. There are definitely different color stones which IMO is just fine but I also see slight variations from oil and wear which I want to see. I’d guess 60s with that sig. It isn’t 40s. It’s a terrific bracelet.

Perfect. I love getting more details about the cuff. I'll will have to examine the stones more carefully to see what you mean. Drive safe. Thanks for loving my bracelet.

Untreated, natural turquoise of very high quality (sometimes called Precious Turquoise) resists color change. But if turquoise is of moderate or lesser quality, it can be more likely to change color when it comes in contact with water and oils.

    &

Turquoise is a compound that includes metals such as aluminum, copper or iron. Water and oil can cause some of these metals to oxidize, or in other words rust. As a result of oxidation, the stones can actually change color. Blue turquoise that contains copper can change from a light blue to a dark green.

Agree but the stones in that bracelet were never perfectly matched.

Absolutely true. The softer the turquouse the more oil it will absorb and green out. On the other hand, there’s lots of Cerrillos (and other mines) turquoise out there which starts out green. I have a Cerrillos piece on-i’ll see if I can shoot it in the car (hubby is driving).

European turquoise can also be blue or green. And Persian turquoise can be a large range of colours.
