    It is stunning, charlie.:jawdrop:
Who knows, maybe you'll see one at a car boot sale some day, and the seller won't know what it is.;)

I had one that I got for a steal. Placed it up for auction and if I recall correctly, it bombed and sold for about 1/5 of what I was expecting.

I thought I no longer had the photo, but I found it!

    Right side, middle.

I almost gave in at a show this summer on a POL necklace, bracelet and earrings in sterling. It was a beauty but i didn’t want to go $2500.

Old photo, it's hidden somewhere in the Hoard.

Wow, prices really have gone up since I stopped selling a year or so ago. Although I guess having the whole set, someone could ask a high price and it will sell.

    Jabot pin! Love!!!
Are you sure it is not butterfly wings? The brownish part is the result of exposition to humidity...

I am, I looked at it VERY carefully under a loupe. I doubted myself first off.

I bet the guy still has it. He told me that no one even looked at it and I was the only person who knew what it was. It was a beauty in pristine condition but the earrings were screwbacks and killed and I really didn’t want the bracelet as I’m too hard on jewelry on my hands so I pretty much stick with plain silver or gold. He wouldn’t split up the set and wouldn’t budge from $2500. I didn’t take his info and I figured there was no point. At this stage of life I really don’t collect anymore unless I trip over steals (which we all know do happen) and pretty much stick with NA, vintage Mexico and Peretti but a POL necklace has always been on my “list” but of course I only want a great one at a price…

Oh, I read the original post too quickly and my brain assumed it was something that had already sold. Steep price, but eventually might sell. "Eventually" being the operative word...lol.

A few years ago I posted my first Amsterdamse School saphiret brooch, in the meantime I've found a second one.
Both are base metal, and even though I usually only buy silver Amsterdamse School jewellery (investment as well as enjoyment), I had to buy the saphirets of course.;)

I have 3 pieces of Saphiret and one that I think is sapharine. Two brooches, both broken, one pendant and a sapharine necklace.
The necklace was £2 in a charity shop. Can you imagine how quickly I scarpered out of there with that?!
