Featured Can you tell me what is mark means on gold necklace.

I believe the mark reads 14KGK.
In fact I asked several people and that's what they all see too!
But what the heck does that mean??
Ive heard of 14K, 14KGF (Gold Filled), 14KGB(Gold Bonded), 14K GO (Rolled Gold) and a few more, but what is this?
I even searched the GK thinking is was a makers mark, but nothing made any sense.
The chain is very very fine and quite lovely, as is the pendant.
Anyone here have any ideas?

 

It appears to be cast,so 14K with GK the maker's mark.

 

But can't find that makers mark ANYWHERE!

 

Why would you assume you could find a maker's mark?There are probably thousands of marks which were never registered any place.

 

Ok, well that is why I was asking... not an expert on jewelry sorry!

 

the 1st K doesn't look like the 2nd K........so maybe a P ?

 

The marks were originally pressed into the original wax model,when the wax was injected into the mold it didn't fill the mark area properly.

This is the kind of mark you see a lot on fairly recent jewellery from China. It is likely you'll never find the manufacturer.
The general style has an Asian feel as well.

I agree, it looks like a totally different font, rather than not completely filled.

I actually remember quite a while ago that a lady put up a piece of jewelry with the exact markings except what looked like 18KGK. One of the replies was that it didn't fill the mark area properly and she believed it to be 18KGR. It would have been on collectors weekly which I have been in for a long time.
