Hi! I would be most appreciative if anyone has any info about this jug. I saved it from a certain fall at Value Village for less than the price if a fancy coffee because I liked its simplicity and because it had an old note taped to the bottom reading "Earle this was your great-grandfather's cider jug". I couldn't let the old man down and had to save it. I am mainly wondering aproximate age, where it might have been made (does the clay showing in the chip help?), and if it is a copy if a fancier, more finely made piece and what that piece might be. Oh, it is just 5 3/4 inches high.

Thanks all! I will be sharing more bits on various forums thatI wonder about so please bear with me

Your lady dancing around the base looks influenced by the 'Dancing Hours' John Flaxman designed for Wedgwood.

Granite type clay, sometimes found in the West of England, would not surprise me if it's British. Early 19th ish. Looks salt glazed. There's a very good Facebook group for sprigged and moulded jugs.
