Picked up this cool modern, mid century (?) table. It's like a podium or lectern maybe? I thought it quite unique, it seems well constructed, I'm thinking possibly teak(?) Any insight is appreciated, I bought for resale, didn't pay much for it. I used Google lens and found similar pieces that were astronomically high priced, name brand Danish etc....guessing I didn't get that lucky as there are no brand markers on it. 40 tall x 24 w x 16 d As always -- thank you!
At 40in tall, I don't think it's tall enough to be a podium or lectern for an adult, not to mention that it has no way to keep papers of books from sliding off the upper slanted part. Depending on how tall the lower shelf, is I wonder if a small person could sit and use it as a drawing table.
Similar idea by David Ebner 1982. https://www.1stdibs.com/furniture/t...desk-book-stand-david-ebner-1982/id-f_651024/
Here's some more detailed pictures....it looks like it's attached through slots/notches in wood. Pretty smooth craftsmanship I feel!
David Ebner calls his a 'standing desk.' Measurements here. http://www.davidnebner.com/w_standingdesk.html Debora
Welll...I got a response!!...... & I feel like I got yelled at by David Ebner LOL! He responded to my email in ALL CAPS. Validating that he indeed, DID NOT make my table. Kinda cool! Now....to figure out a value. I have someone willing to pay $200 I feel it may be worth more, and mama got bills to pay.... Or, should I take the $$$ and run??!?! I'll save you the knowledge of what I paid for it!
