Art Glass Shallow Bowl

    It is about 10 1/2" in diameter. Any idea of the maker?
    Not sure if that is a repair on the bottom or the bottom layer was made in two pieces.

    Looks like a hobbyist slump glass. Some of mine looks like that.

    Looks like how?
    So, are there two layers of glass? And why the two pieces on the bottom?

    Hi,
    The glass most likely cracking during the heating and refused together. You have ceramic molds and place the glass on them and it heats in the kiln and fuses together. It heats hot enough to soften the glass but not so hot as to melt it. You can have as many layers as you like as long as it will "slump" and fuse together.
