Featured Where was this ring made?

Hey everyone I purchased this ring that has several hallmarks inside but the only one I recognize is the 9ct. I feel like I've seen this M/O shaped mark before but I have no clue what it means. The second one could be some kind of animal with a long tail? And the last one kinda reminds me of an omega sign . It is a very pale gold color with some engravings. I tried my best to capture the marks. Let me know if you have any ideas

 

Very rubbed British import marks, I suspect.

 

I think it actually means OBLO. I found some other rings with the same stamp but not the other ones

Not Norwegian. Norway, like most countries, doesn't recognize 9ct as gold, and they wouldn't mark gold with a ct mark (Norwegian word for carat is karat, with a k).
I think obb's 'rubbed English mark' theory is more plausible. The style of the ring also looks British to me.

 

Yup, it's really only us and a couple of former colonies which is 9 ct as a mark or even a purity.

The style is like an eternity ring without stones, too. And if there's an omega looking symbol, that's an import mark.

I looked at the import omega signs on google and sadly it's not quite the same

 

I am also surprised that it says 9CT and not 375

 

Might be an old ring. Wedding band, I'd bet.

 

9 ct was used until at least the 30s here.

 

So I posted it in another forum and someone said that it appears to be made in South Africa with one of the marks (the one next to the 9ct) being a springbok head with a U sign, and the date is 1964.

 

South Africa hadn't ocurred to me, but they did use 9ct marks.
