Appears these were actually taken off a wall, or something. Spain? Italy? D45BD150-7308-4C9A-8573-5065D713F4D9.jpeg 787D05B6-BFE5-4F52-97E7-1B003ADACEA9.jpeg

Well got diggity dog on that sale. Doesn’t show price but if it was close to asking price they seemed to have done well. I wonder if mine are newer? They look a bit cleaner and brighter. Some of the stuff they came with was definitely 19th c and one thing possibly earlier. Thanks for that link!

It's interesting that 1stdibs shows a lot about the seller, except who they were. Or maybe I missed something? Anyway, I see they are located in Downington, PA -- when I looked for antique dealers there, the big one that came up was Pook & Pook. So probably them. (Note the correction below.)

Not Pook & Pook, but Earle D. Vandekar of Knightsbridge Antiques (whew, that's a mouthful). How I knew? I saw the name of the owner in the reviews.

Hm. I've seen him on Facebook. He's not that knowledgeable.

One reason I tried to figure out who sold it was because of the information there about the tiles in the auction. But, it does cite a museum collection, and I haven't looked into that. It seems reasonable.

We are Facebook "friends" so I see his stuff come up quite a bit. He is definitely a dealer and he's very fond of Fornasetti ceramics. Also posts some really neat 19th c sailor "woolies" which are pictures, usually boats, created with coloured wool. But I don't usually opine on tiles because some that were made yesterday look like they were made 150 years ago. :)
