    Hello to you all! It has been awhile since I have come across anything worthwhile posting, but I think this one fits the bill. A bracelet with coral beads mounted in sterling "frames" with 14k gold links and clasp. I have tested all components and it does not seem to be wishful thinking. The links are soldered. I have not done any polishing (I am sorely tempted...although I think I will give the sterling parts a gentle shine up with a sunshine cloth). I am wondering about origin (my best guess is Tibet???... @AnyJewelry ) and age. I am hoping for your thoughts and input? Measurements are 7 1/2 inches by 1 1/8. First pic is the front, last pic is the back. Thanks for looking!!!

    Beautiful, Wenna, and very unusual.
    Tibetan bracelets are much more chunky, usually with a lot of silver and big stones. There are bracelets with smaller stone beads, but those beads are in closed rows, or they use tube beads.
    That slide clasp looks Eastern Med, but it has been used in other parts as well. Maybe it is Western Med, but it could even be German. I think once the silver has been polished it will have a very different, Modernist look.
    Welcome back.:happy::kiss::kiss: Missed you.

    Lots of tool marks, but no intentional marks that I can find. I hope that once I have shined it up a little something will show up. Thanks for looking!

    @Any Jewelry Jewelry Thanks for your thoughts. Both you and @Ownedbybear are thinking Eastern Med...I'll start looking in that direction!

    It does look like Med coral to my eye.

    I didn't think Eastern Med, but Western Med or even Germany.

    It is definitely not a tradtional bracelet from anywhere, so I wouldn't look at ethnic or traditional jewellery. If I try to imagine it clean, it looks Modernist to me.

    If Eastern Med at all, maybe modern Greek, but it doesn't seem to be waving a national flag.:playful:

    Agree, Med red. But that can be found in many parts of the world.

    Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

    Hello, @wenna -- Have you tried polishing the metal yet, or using a sunshine cloth? Just curious as to how it looks. And thanks for posting this!

    Thanks @Figtree3 and Yes, I have polished it up and it looks much better. I did also find 2 marks on the pin part of the clasp (they are placed right next to each other and are identical). The marks **appear** to be the French eagle head mark for 18kt gold. I can only see them with a loupe and at just the right angle. They are tiny, tiny, tiny. I don't think I will be able to get good pics of them but will try. Hope to update this soon with pics!

    A couple of new pics. First one, the bracelet polished up a bit. It was pretty tedious getting it this far, but worth it I think. Second, the marks I found on the pin part of the clasp. Two French eagle heads I **think** (sorry, a little blurry). Have not found any marks for sterling (although the 'mounts' for the coral are definitely sterling). I wonder if this is a student piece using found components (or 2 blokes in a shed)? @Hollyblue what is your take on this? 20220911_162640- polished.jpg 20220911_161742-marks.jpg

    With the excess solder in the joints and extreme file marks,it's hard to say who made it.It could have been made in an area with limited tools or someone who is not very experienced.
