Maybe a block print of some type (linocut?) Was told it came from a Ukranian family. Signature looks Western but rest appears to be in Russian. Any ideas/translations? Note that the print is also initialed just above the signature. First name begins with U. Surname begins with W?

Putting the handwriting into lens image search and using the translate function, the first picture you posted is the name of this town:

The second picture of text you posted is translated as Russian meaning "which linocut".

The machine can't read the signature, LOL.

The design is Deco as all get-out, and it may well date to the 30s.

It is quality work, reminiscent of some Soviet era work. I read 90, for 1990.
Maybe made to commemorate the historic Battle of Berestechko, in which the Cossacks and Crimean Tatars kicked the Polish out of Berestechko?
In 1990 Ukraine declared state sovereignty. Maybe the battle was an important symbol of independence at the time. (I could be barking up the wrong tree.:shame:)

I bet @Natasha can tell us more about the artist and the subject. Tagging @Stepan too.:)

Bumping this up. Any ideas about the signature/artist?

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

My only clear thought is that the signature might be the first letter of the first name, followed by the surname. I can't really tell whether it is Cyrillic or not.

I really like this one. That signature is pretty hard to read. Here are my WAGS: U. Hypnoff or niff; U. Hiypnoff/niff and lastly U. Huypnoff/niff. :)

The inscription says "Берестечко, кольорова лiногравюра" - Berestechko color linocut", the signature is not readable for me. I guess the year is 1990 and most probably it was a local artist who did the linocut

....and I'd definitely hang it, especially now.
