identify vintage doll

Hi can anyone shed any light on this doll see pictures
approx 13/14 inches in length
some letters at base of neck but difficult to read
looks as if its made in two parts?
face appears to be hand painted.

Face has been REPAINTED......& POORLY at that.

the letters on the back of neck are difficult to read with a spy glass, taking a clear picture of them is impossible.
the body of the doll head, legs, arms etc are quite hard. its not a plush doll.
arms and legs can be positioned they pull in and out of position?

 

Looks like a compo 40s/50s baby doll that's been overpainted, like Judy says .

(Earlier hard plastic is almost imporssible to tell from compo in pics, could very well be HP and not compo. xx )

Depending where you live would make a difference in who manufactured this, if US i would think it's possible it's made my someone like Ideal, for example, but really could be any number of factories. These were churned out for a while, by many places. As it's been erm ...*overpainted* tis hard to see what it's supposed to look like.
If here ( UK) could be any number of makers. Could be just generic, quite likely xx

 

The limbs are probably set with elastic, which would make them easily moved.....don't pull too hard tho, as that's not its function. You could easily break the elastic.
